PNW Warehousing is looking for a Freight Broker who is highly motivated, goal-oriented, and is a strong communicator. In this role you will be responsible for developing relationships with new and existing carriers/drivers to monitor movement and ensure on-time delivery. and match their available capacity with customer needs, as well as negotiate rates and contracts. This is the full-time in-office position located in Fife, WA.

Pay Scale: $70,000 - $112,000 yearly based on experience

Benefits:

Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday, evening and weekends as needed

Position Summary: The key responsibilities of the freight broker include managing the client base, updating information, negotiating the best rates, preparing quotes, tracking hauled goods, managing the information flow between the shipper and the company, resolving problems, and delivering goods to the final destination on time. Generate sales leads for the company, develop and maintain relationships with acquired customers, support day-to-day operational escalations, and work with the team to solicit feedback from new and existing carriers on rates and available capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain new customer accounts for the company
  • Negotiate prices, prepare quotes, and collect payments for the services provided
  • Schedule and negotiate transportation of goods with shipping or freight companies
  • Notify customers, passengers, or consignees of the arrival of freight or baggage and arrange delivery
  • Track and locate lost deliveries when necessary
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of freight brokerage experience
  • Well-honed negotiating skills to get the best possible quotes for customers
  • Strong understanding of a truckload market
  • Analytical skills to determine which carriers offer the right set of services for various clients
  • Strong sales and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Proactive problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Freight Broker license
  • If not currently licensed, willingness and commitment to obtain a Freight Broker license within a specified timeframe

Candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug test upon being given a conditional offer of employment
