HDR is currently seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Springfield, IL office. In the role of Environmental Scientist I, we'll count on you to work on a wide variety of environmental compliance and natural resources projects as they relate to water resources, energy and development projects. You would work under the supervision of mid-level and senior environmental scientists and engineers, and your assignments may include wetland delineations and reporting, habitat investigations, preparing environmental site assessments, preparing federal and state permit applications, usingArcPro Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to prepare maps and analyze information, and public involvement support. We would count on you to take responsibility for assisting with environmental permits and other environmental compliance documentation; assist senior and mid-level scientists in field work associated with the collection of natural resource data in Illinois and elsewhere; and perform other duties as needed.
In the role of Environmental Scientist I, we'll count on you to
- Work on a wide variety of environmental compliance and natural resources projects as they relate to water resources, transportation and development projects
- Work under the supervision of mid-level and senior environmental scientist and water resource engineers
- Take responsibility for assisting with environmental permits, NEPA documentation, biological assessments and other environmental compliance documentation
- Assist senior and mid-level scientists in field work associated with the collection of natural resource data
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred but not Required: - Master's degree in environmental science or related field.
- Experienced in using ArcPro GIS for analysis and presentation.
- Trained in performing wetland delineations per U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requirements.

Qualifications Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or closely related field
- Knowledge of wetland delineation, field investigation techniques, and agency coordination requirements
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- MS Office experience
