Black Hills State University is seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Bookstore Director to lead our dynamic team and elevate our bookstore experience.
Responsibilities: - Oversee daily operations of the bookstore, including inventory management, staff supervision, and customer service.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales, enhance customer experience, and promote the bookstore within the university and community.
- Manage budgeting, financial reporting, and ensure the store meets its financial goals.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of dedicated staff members.
- Utilize marketing and social media to boost the bookstore's presence and attract new customers.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in any related field is required.
- Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a bookstore or related environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A deep passion for books and the literary community.
- Proficiency in inventory management and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and analyze sales data.
- Creative and strategic thinking with a customer-centric approach.
