The Role: Digital Marketing Manager
Reports To: Director Business Development
Location: Hybrid in Chicagoland Area
Travel: Up to 10%
The Position
You work closely with the sales and marketing team to develop digital marketing programs, content, and campaigns. You play a key role in improving communication and company branding with partners, while ensuring consistent messaging across all marketing channels. You also evaluate and present new digital marketing and/or marketing opportunities to leadership.
You analyze the effectiveness of digital marketing programs and recommend ways to continuously improve. Additionally, you manage our company website and social media presence while working in conjunction with external agencies. You'll collaborate with the team to create programs geared toward building our partner base, onboarding new partners, educating them, and engaging them with the goal of increasing their sales contribution to the organization.
You develop and execute plans for marketing events and tradeshows in and outside of Chicago, respond to internal requests for marketing assistance, provide marketing support for sales programs and sales training, and tackle special projects. You are accountable for the successful execution of external events within marketing budgets, reach designated goals related to event performance metrics, and assist to build customer and partner loyalty and the company brand.
We are looking for a strong communicator with excellent written and visual skills. You are adept at juggling multiple projects and working with various internal and external parties to achieve departmental goals.
Your Playbook
- Work with company leadership to strategize and execute an effective marketing roadmap.
- Participate in the planning, development and execution of marketing campaigns and external events, including trade shows.
- Function as communication liaison between Marketing and Sales.
- Plan and execute all web, marketing database, email, social media, and advertising campaigns.
- Work with external agencies to execute social media plans.
- Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns.
- Develop and execute a regular partner newsletter. This will include working with the marketing team to develop content ideas, coordinating additional internal resources to produce content and designing the final product using available digital tools.
- Read/understand email marketing analytics and make recommendations for improvement.
- Blogging, including developing content and coordinating internal content contribution.
- Maintain the company website.
- Coordinate partner webinars and podcasts, including collaborating on topics, promoting them, and collaborating with internal teams to create presentation materials.
Skills You Bring to the Field
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field
- Minimum of 5 years in business-to-business digital marketing
- Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
- Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills, including proofreading and editing
- Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate respectfully and efficiently
- Effective relationship building and management skills
- High degree of initiative with great problem-solving and follow-through skills
- Ability to travel to work events scheduled on evenings and/or weekends
- Experience developing creative and engaging slide decks in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
- Strong Excel & Word skills
- Adobe suite, Canva, or set of creative tools experience a plus
- Solid knowledge of Google Analytics or similar website analytics tools
- Technology or Warehouse Automation industry experience is a plus
