Job Title: Forklift & Crane Operator

Pay: $20 - $22 an hour

Shift: 1st, 2nd & 3rd shift

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced forklift & crane operator to join our team. Our warehouse specializes in storing and shipping steel materials, and we require someone proficient in operating forklifts to handle the transport of heavy steel materials, aluminum ingots, and more. Our equipment includes machines capable of handling loads from 6 tons up to 60 tons.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move and transport heavy and oversized steel materials and aluminum ingots.
• Operate overhead cranes to lift heavy material.
• Ensure safe handling and transportation of materials within the warehouse.
• Collaborate with team members to efficiently manage inventory and shipments.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in forklift operation.
• Ability to handle heavy and difficult loads due to their size and length.
• Familiarity with steel plant operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in steel processing or steel manufacturing is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is a non-climate-controlled warehouse with approximately 14 employees. We offer three shifts: 1st shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday; 2nd shift from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday to Friday; and 3rd shift from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am, Sunday to Thursday. The dress code requires long pants, long sleeves, a hard hat, and steel-toed boots.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $20.00/hr.
