• Location- Right in Downtown Austin, Texas!

The Texas Permanent School Fund (PSF) is looking for a creative, detail-oriented Communications Intern to join our External Relations team this summer. If you're someone who enjoys developing strategic messaging and visual narratives , designing thoughtful visuals, and contributing to both internal and external storytelling, this is a great opportunity to grow your skills and build a portfolio with purpose.

In this role, you'll support a wide range of communications efforts, including staff updates, newsletters, and leadership messaging, as well as media summaries, legislative briefings, and board materials. You’ll also use design and visual tools to communicate PSF’s mission and impact in clear, compelling ways.

What You’ll Do:

• Design visual content and reports using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
• Build data visualizations that showcase statewide investment impacts
• Support media and public relations efforts with briefs and summaries
• Draft internal communications and contribute to newsletters and events
• Collaborate on social media storytelling and content development

Tools You’ll Use:

• Adobe Illustrator (or a similar tool)
• Canva
• PowerBI
• Microsoft Office Suite

What We’re Looking For:

• Currently enrolled undergraduate (rising junior or senior) or graduate student
• Majoring in Communications, Graphic Design, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
• Strong portfolio showcasing design experience
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Interest in public service, economic policy, education funding, or communications related to finance and government is a plus
