JOB OVERVIEW: Movement is seeking an experienced professional to serve as a site superintendent in the construction of an indoor climbing facility in Mountain View, CA.This is a contract position with an expected start date in mid-October 2024 and minimum five-month term.This position reports to the VP of Design and Construction with primary responsibilities including site logistics, receiving, vendor and general contractor coordination, and supervising teams of employees in move-in and set up tasks.Movement operates over 30 indoor climbing gyms across the country with multiple locations under development.
RESPONSIBILITIES Coordination
- Coordinates Movement vendors at job site
- Climbing wall and flooring, low voltage, alarms, contract fabricators, fitness installers, training board installers, ISP, and others as required
- Coordinates activities & schedules for Movement in-house teams at job site during construction
- Fitness, operations, retail, tech, brand, route-setters
- Acts as Movement liaison with General Contractor
- Performs Quality Control and Quality Assurance checks for all aspects of gym construction, o ensure work is built as shown on project plans
- Actively looks for conflicts and issues and reports to teams involved
- Runs punch list and completeness sign off for all vendors
- Participates in weekly OAC call with GC, Architect, PMs
- Actively coordinates with other offsite for construction site updates, schedule updates, and conflicts
- Schedules and runs periodic coordination meetings with Movement in-house team leads and decision makers
- Participates in periodic New Gym (full team) update meetings
Receiving and Site Logistics
- Runs on-site receiving for all items shipped to site
- Tracks, receives, and organizes all incoming items for duration of project
- Coordinates logistics and equipment for large orders (foam, climb walls, fitness)
- Participates in biweekly meetings with Movement purchasing team
- Coordinates all site logistics for Movement performed work
- Container storage, equipment rental, tool rentals, staging and work areas
Leadership
- This work involves incoming hires for new gym and temp labor teams
- Reads plans and lays out Movement in-house work as needed
- Hires out as needed to complete project
- Trains incoming Movement employees about building system specifics
- Participates in and supports new gym opening events
- Troubleshoots gym facilities operations for two weeks after grand opening
- Runs warranty, O&M, and punchlist hand-off between GC/Movement vendors and incoming gym operations team
POSITION DETAILS - Based in Mountain View, CA
- Temporary position. Term starts ~10/15 ends ~3/1 (or 2 weeks after project completion, whichever is later.)

- The annualized pay range for this position starts at $90,000 and may increase based on experience and qualifications .
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - 3+ years in construction management or related construction site responsibilities
- Familiarity with equipment and fixtures used in indoor rock climbing
- Ability to read construction plans and perform layout tasks from them
- Ability to operate forklifts and boom lifts
- Ability to perform heavy physical labor for extended periods
- Ability to climb ladders and lift 100 lbs. comfortably
- Skill and experience working with all common hand tools
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook)
