Our company is seeking a seasoned Permanent Safety Manager with a passion for ensuring the safety and well-being of all our staff in the construction industry. As a pivotal member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and enforcing safety programs and protocols throughout our construction sites. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with a deep understanding of all safety matters relevant to the construction industry. This includes a thorough knowledge of OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations. The Safety Manager will be involved in everything from training and education to site inspections and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
2. Plan and implement training for employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling of materials and equipment.
3. Inspect organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, and recommend corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
4. Conduct investigations of accidents and injuries, compiling and submitting reports as required by regulatory agencies.
5. Coordinate safety meetings, training programs, and maintain documentation of safety and health training.
6. Maintain safety files and records, and assist with the design and development of safety training materials.
7. Stay informed about changes in safety regulations, including those issued by OSHA, state and federal agencies, and ensure changes are accurately communicated to employees and incorporated into company policies.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Safety Manager role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA.
4. Proven ability to develop and implement safety policies and training programs.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees on safety protocols.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
8. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certifications are preferred.
