Description:

The Concrete Finisher is responsible for ensuring quality finishing techniques on each project, while ensuring overall project quality, safety and completion while respresenting ECS's vision, mission and standards.

Position Summary: The primary job of the Concrete Finisher is to perform a variety of construction tasks including but not limited to, forming, placing, and finishing concrete products to meet and exceed industry standards utilizing necessary equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Duties:

  1. Complete the day-to-day concrete field operations for the project while meeting management and customer objectives for safety, quality, and schedule
  2. Safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools of all types ensuring that equipment is in good working order
  3. Complete finishing work with a high degree of skill and professionalism ensuring that the requirements of the project are met
  4. Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold, effect concrete throughout the entire process
  5. Follow directions, schedules and requirements from Project Foreman or Superintendent
  6. Spread, level, and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed and float according to grade and depth of specification
  7. Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, straightedge and wet cutter and saws to help control cracking
  8. Form, place and finish all types of concrete to the desired finished product required by plans and specifications

Essential Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Adhere to all Company safety policies, OSHA policies and other applicable safety standards
  2. Responsible for efficient utilization of labor, equipment, materials and other resources
  3. Represent Company in a professional and positive manner at all times during working hours and on job-sites
  4. Proactively communicate with team on all matters that impact project quality, safety, resource utilization and project stages / timelines

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:

  • 5 + years experience with a general contractor who performs concrete, masonry, carpentry for both residential and commercial projects
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively work and communicate in a team environment
  • Strong orientation for detail, organization and high-quality standards
  • Effectively use appropriate business software and forms including time management software and electronic communications
  • Able to manage performance with a high degree of competency in concrete finishing
  • Strong knowledge of current construction means, methods and procedures and be able to direct others to perform to these standards
  • Must be able to read and interpret plans, specifications and shop drawings
  • Working experience and knowledge of Indesign and Illustrator
  • Ability to travel to job sites as required
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Personal accountability and responsibility with excellent follow-through
  • Positive attitude, collaborative and adept at every changing priority

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to stand, bend, stoop and reach on a prolonged and continual basis
  • Must have good stamina, vision, eye hand coordination and ability to estimate size and dimensions
  • Must wear required PPE at all times and follow all safety requirements
  • Must be able to climb stairs, work from heights on ladders or scaffolding and move throughout the jobsite
  • Must be able to efficiently and effectively operate manual and electrically powered tools, sprayers and construction related equipment utilizing full range of physical motion
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
