Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley (HFHNFV) is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit housing organization. Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to bring people together to build homes, community and hope. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Habitat for Humanity builds homes that are sold to qualifying families at fair market value and provides 0% interest financing and an affordable monthly payment that is no more than 30% of the family’s household income. Currently, we serve 75 families a year by building 10 homes and repairing 65 homes and are seeking to make an even bigger impact in the communities we serve.

SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION: The Community Partnerships Manager is responsible for leading the affiliate’s community and corporate relations efforts, for retaining donors and for securing year-over-year increases in funding. Community partnerships include cash donations, team build days, sponsorships, employee giving, gift in kind, grants and mission support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY: Corporate Partnerships (70%)

  • Lead community and corporate relations efforts for the affiliate, aiming for year-over-year growth.
  • Develop community and corporate outreach and engagement strategies, build a portfolio of prospects, prepare written materials and requests in keeping with department standards.
  • Cultivate, retain and grow existing community and corporate partners to achieve financial goals by delivering a high level of communication, stewardship and donor-centric partnerships.
  • Manage planning and logistics for cultivation and recognition programs and events to deepen relationships with current community and corporate partners and prospects.
  • Write competitive and renewal sponsorship requests, prepare submission packages, ensure compliance with funder regulations and deadlines.
  • Provide the Director with leads for corporate grant opportunities and support grant application submission as needed.
  • Provide recognition and impact reports to corporate partners in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the content of the website, newsletters, annual reports, social media and other marketing efforts.
  • Promote programs and services through strategic outreach to community partners.
  • Work closely with Habitat for Humanity International, sponsors, and other organizations on special projects and builds.
  • Actively participate in a number of chambers of commerce to build relationships within the community we serve.
  • Conduct outreach to targeted companies to introduce them to Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley and introduce employee volunteer opportunities.

Key Responsibility: Department Leadership (30%)

  • Actively participate in the long-term success of the affiliate through its development department.
  • Acquire and maintain sound knowledge of the affiliate to accurately and creatively represent the affiliate in meetings, presentations, proposals, etc.
  • With the Director of Development, establish annual and long-term fundraising goals and benchmarks for corporate and community engagement.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records in CRM system to help facilitate institutional memory.
  • Champion teamwork, record/data maintenance and creative problem solving in all team members.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Understanding, enthusiasm and commitment to the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
  • Strong understanding of corporate philanthropy and a track record of developing and stewarding corporate partnerships, securing corporate funding.
  • Superior written and oral communication and presentation skills; ability to clearly and passionately communicate about programs and services and to craft compelling partnership proposals and pitch materials.
  • Self-motivated, detail and accuracy oriented, highly organized with impeccable follow-through skills.
  • Personable, customer-oriented with a propensity to be a self-starter.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as NXT / Raiser’s Edge platform, Blackbaud Luminate, and/or willingness to learn.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS Degree plus four years of relevant experience (fundraising, business development, sales, etc.)
  • Eight years of direct, applicable experience can be substituted to satisfy degree requirement.
  • Personal volunteer experience and commitment to volunteerism (preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOB:

This position is primarily performed at a desk in the office but will require some off-site meetings with prospective companies and chamber meetings. Other outside meetings and presentations are frequently required, some will be during the weekend or evening and having a reliable personal vehicle for transportation and a valid driver’s license is required. The position is classified full-time, exempt with full benefits. Anticipated work schedule follows general business hours, with no fewer than 40 hours per week expected.
