POSITION SUMMARY

Nurse Educator is a registered professional nurse who will facilitate nursing orientation to all nurses in the classroom setting and in the unit based skills competency.  Assist with formulation and implementation of training in areas of multi-cultural awareness and a diversity sensitivity curriculum.  Evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Responsible for coordinating the activities of the Infection Control Program, assuming direct responsibility for infection surveillance and reporting, and providing technical support and education for the hospital staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years nursing experience preferred as an RN

Licensure: Registered Nurse

Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. Must have current CPR certification upon hire. Successful completion of Handle With Care to include physical hold and verbal de-escalation during orientation.
