Job Description

Wound Care Specialists LLC (WCS) is a locally owned, industry leading physician and nurse practitioner practice group providing specialized wound care management of close to 200 post-acute and long-term care facilities across Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Our providers conduct weekly bedside consultations in skilled nursing facilities with superior clinical outcomes, exceptional healing rates, and significantly reduced wound related complications and hospitalizations.

We are seeking a full-time APRN Monday through Friday for a Clinical Liaison hybrid role that allows the ability to split your week between a couple hands on clinical days and a couple office support days. Under the supervision and direction of the CEO and COO, this role provides personal work/life balance while also supporting the team in their success! Whether you are experienced or new to this type of role we are willing to train the right clinician who is seeking growth in their career!

Administrative & Educational Duties:

  • Provide provider medical document education and support as needed.
  • Assist with Skin Substitute Program and MIPS Program with the support of the CEO.
  • Assist the CEO in developing and maintaining policies with medical staff as necessary.
  • Support facilities with wound education needs onsite as needed.
  • Assist clinical trainers with educating and signing off on new hire competencies during training.
  • With the support of Business Development team coordinate new hire training schedule and provide ongoing clinical provider support with scheduling needs, caseload management discussions, and any building support issues.
  • Assist with planning wound care education fairs and wound presentations as needed.
  • Assist with quarterly clinical staff meeting coordination to support the providers’ success.

Clinical Duties:

  • Maintain a small weekly personal caseload of patient encounters within a couple facilities.
  • Assist with clinical vacation coverages as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • No prior wound experience necessary as we will fully train and wound certify you. Prior wound experience, wound certification, or SNF/LTC experience ideal.
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license to practice and bill in the state of Connecticut required.
  • Experience with education and staff development ideal
  • Proficiency working within EMRs
  • Ability to travel to SNFs/LTCs within CT and occasionally to MA and RI as necessary.
