6. Who may be considered:
We are looking for motivated, compassionate Medical Assistants to join our team. No license is required – we sponsor all training. The ideal candidate is a recent college graduate who aspires to be a PA, NP, MD, or DO. Medical Scribes are encouraged to apply.
• No license/certification required (the ideal candidate is a recent college graduate who aspires to be a PA, NP, MD, or DO)
• Opportunity to perform a wide variety of back office procedures including Injections, Ventipuncture, Surgical dressing changes, Wound Care, Setting up and assisting with in office surgical procedures, routine wound care for chronic wounds, venipuncture, Doppler/ABIs, E-stim, IR and nIR wound Therapy and more.
• Past employees have been successful in gaining admission to their top choice programs including for DO, MD, and PA
• Bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed)
• Availability to work 20-40 hours/week for at least 1 year
We offer letters of recommendation for all full-time employees who work more than 18 months, as well as essay feedback and interview practice.
7. Job Description:
1. Serve as a patient advocate during patient exam and treatment
2. Perform Duties of a Medical Scribe with training
3. Ensure proper consent forms and patient information are obtained prior to preparing a patient for treatment
4. Prepare patients for doctor examination, position instruments and equipment and assist physician
5. Record patients’ medical history, medications, allergies, vital statistics, and information such as test results in medical records
6. Schedule appointments
7. Responsible for mobile medical supplies
8. Provider assistance during examinations and treatments, including but not limited to telehealth visits and assisting remotely
9. Under provider direction, authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies
10. Perform accurate documentation of all procedures in a timely manner
11. Correctly dispose of infection waste and biohazard materials
12. Clean and disinfect exam rooms, lab areas, and autoclave instruments
13. Adhere to all safety policies and procedure in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and excellent customer service
14. Attend all required meetings and trainings.
15. May be required to pick-up vaccines, medical supplies, etc.
16. Consistently demonstrate and uphold CCCHC’s principle of providing quality health and human services to the medically underserved and low-income populations in a culturally sensitive manner.
17. Required to know, follow, and enforce safe work practices, and be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations.
18. Maintain patient confidentiality and data integrity in accordance with Health Information Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and maintain security of protected health information (PHI)
19. Required to take phone calls and assist front office
20. Adequately photograph patient wounds and anatomy and preserve for the Health record.
21. All other duties as Assigned
22. Become proficient in using HIPPA- Compliant Telehealth platform, and utilizing it routinely to communicate with Supervising Clinician or Physician during patient contact.
23. Become proficient at performing routine dressing changes in a safe, sanitary manner in accordance with direct training and instruction by supervising Medical health personnel.
