Location:Bellingham, WA **JOB DESCRIPTION:**
Transport product from Smith Gardens facilities to customer, maintaining quality product, timely delivery, accurate paperwork and safe driving. Transports materials inter-company as needed. May drive solo or as part of a team.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
* Maintain vehicle, timely reporting of maintenance issues.
* Perform pre and post trip inspections of vehicles.
* Keep accurate records of deliveries, inventories, discrepancies, hours, and miles. Communicate with facilities any issues.
* Pick up racks, misc. products/supplies and transport as requested.
* Follow DOT regulations, complete paperwork accurately.
* Represent Smith Gardens with a cooperative, positive and professional attitude.
**SKILLS AND ABILITIES:**
* Ability to drive in rain and snow.
* Ability to handle vehicle in congested areas.
* Ability to read maps and follow directions.
* Ability to use electronic logs.
* Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
**QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:**
* Previous experience working with Class A or B license a plus.
* Clean driving record.
* Current DOT medical card.
* Current Class A CDL **OR** Current Class B CDL (dependent on position)
* Must pass a road test, drug screen, employer check, and a motor vehicle report.
* Must be able to drive inter-state.
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**
* Work weekends and longer hours during peak seasons.
* Work as part of a driving team.
* Unload truck at customer sites.
* Able to push/pull rolling racks.
* Break down and load racks at customer sites.
* Secure loads with load bars and/or straps.
* Safely operate a lift gate.
