The Certified Medical Interpreter provides medical interpretation and translation services for patients and families speaking a particular language.GENERAL DUTIESDocument/Phone call/In-person Translation:Treats as confidential, within the treating team, all information obtained via various mediums and sources learned in the performance of their duties following all HIPPA guidelines.Strives to render the message accurately, conveying the content and spirit of the original message and maintain impartiality.Acts in a professional and ethical manner and treat all parties with respect.Data Tracking:Tracks dates and times of services and keep dashboard of data.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSRequired: Certification from the National Board for Certified Medical Interpreters or the Certification for Healthcare InterpretersKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESLinguistic proficiency in both English and Spanish.40 hours of medical interpreter training that is required as part of the certification process.This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this department.
