Local route Truck Drivers (CDL A or B) are responsible for loading galley equipment onto a truck, driving the truck to various types of aircrafts, and unloading the equipment. Local CDL Truck Drivers usually drive on local public roads, outside of the airport and terminal. Main Duties and Responsibilities include loading equipment onto the truck, driving to aircraft at local airport, loading galleys according to customer guidelines, unloading dirty equipment and trash at local facility, adhering to safety and sanitation regulations, interacting with airline representatives, following directions, working as a member of the Transportation team, and additional duties as assigned. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED preferred, must be 21 years of age, up to one-year experience preferred, current U.S. driver's license, CDL Class A or B required, and possibly a Customs Seal from local airport authority. The job requires reading and writing skills, effective communication, working assigned schedules including weekends and holidays, overtime when required, punctuality, compliance with company policies, and completing paperwork. Work environment involves exposure to extreme temperature changes and noise, outdoor work in all weather conditions, lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, standing, bending, lifting intermittently during 8+ hour shifts, and working at heights up to 25 feet.
