We are seeking a Business Analyst II to support a metadata library project and assist with data governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in data governance, metadata management, and business analysis , with a strong ability to engage with non-technical stakeholders. This position requires excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills to ensure successful implementation and documentation of agency-wide metadata standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Office of Data Governance (ODG) and IT teams to develop standardized metadata documentation.
• Engage with public health program staff to ensure alignment between business and technical metadata .
• Provide business analysis, process mapping, and change management expertise to facilitate metadata adoption.
• Prepare communications, presentations, and reports to track progress and support stakeholder engagement.
• Assist in risk identification, cost-benefit analysis, and technology evaluations .
• Support cross-functional teams in integrating data governance best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or business analysis .
• 4+ years of experience working directly with business/program staff to implement technical solutions.
• 4+ years of experience in stakeholder engagement, verbal/written communication, and presentations for non-technical audiences.
• 4+ years of experience in change management related to technology and business processes .
• 4+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams .

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience documenting business and technical metadata .
• 2+ years of experience with Informatica data governance tools (Axon, Enterprise Data Catalog, Informatica Data Quality).
• 2+ years of experience working with public health data or programs .

Employment Details

• Location: Detroit, Michigan (Onsite/Hybrid preferred)
• Duration: Fully funded through July 2026
• Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work on a W2 basis without sponsorship .
