The Boiler Operator is responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety of the steam boiler system in a veneer manufacturing unit. The role ensures an uninterrupted supply of steam for production processes while complying with safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, and maintain steam boilers, pressure vessels, and associated equipment.
• Adjust controls to regulate steam pressure, temperature, and fuel consumption.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Identify and troubleshoot boiler malfunctions, leaks, or other mechanical issues.
• Maintain water treatment systems and conduct tests to ensure proper chemical balance.
• Record and maintain operational logs, including fuel usage, temperature readings, and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines.
• Assist in shutdown and startup procedures as required.
• Report any issues or abnormalities to the Maintenance Head or Plant Manager.
• Train and guide junior staff on boiler operations and safety protocols.

Qualifications & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in boiler operations preferred.
• Valid Boiler Operator License as per local regulatory requirements.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in operating and maintaining steam boilers, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of boiler water treatment and fuel handling.
• Familiarity with safety standards, environmental regulations, and emergency procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in shifts and respond to emergencies as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in high-temperature environments.
• Physical stamina to perform manual tasks such as lifting and climbing.
• Willingness to work in a factory setting with exposure to steam, noise, and chemicals.
