We are seeking a skilled and experienced Banner Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Banner database system, ensuring its smooth operation and optimal performance. As a Banner DBA, you will play a crucial role in supporting various departments within the organization by managing data integrity, security, and availability.
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and upgrade Banner database software as needed.
Design and implement database structures to support institutional needs.
Monitor database performance and optimize SQL queries for efficiency.
Ensure data integrity and security by implementing backup and recovery strategies.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
Collaborate with developers and system administrators to integrate Banner database with other systems.
Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as database reorganizations and index rebuilds.
Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in database management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven work experience as a Database Administrator, specifically with Ellucian Banner.
In-depth knowledge of Oracle or PostgreSQL database management systems.
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus.
