Automotive Tag and Title Clerk / Assistant

$15 - $18 per Hour Depending on Experience

TruckMax in Homestead, FL is looking for a Tag and Title Clerk / Assistant to work with our office personnel. We are looking for a candidate who is organized and can assist with processing paperwork for the DMV.

Essential Functions – Tag and Title Clerk:

• Accurately process incoming titles from the dealerships in a timely manner.
• Receive all processed title work for vehicles purchased and sold.
• Examine vehicle title for accuracy and conformity to specified requirements. Verify acceptance of the title in the state for which it is filed. Confirm accurate title VIN number, odometer reading, releases of liens, and that titles contain no alterations.
• Resolve titling issues through interaction with customers, dealers, and regulatory agencies.
• Maintain knowledge of current DMV laws and regulations as they relate to vehicle titles and interpret titling regulations in each state for which vehicles are processed.
• Scan and send title documents to title agency.
• Apply for duplicate titles and ELTs.
• Answer customer inquiries or concerns regarding titles.
• Process all title work, including out of state titles.
• Resolve problems and issues concerning titles, odometer discrepancies, power of attorneys, lien corrections etc.
• Process and verify financial and legal documents of vehicles to finalize sales deals.
• Prepare and process vehicle title and tax documents.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal and local law in processing titles.
• Issue tag refunds and clean tag schedules
• Maintain metal plates and temporary tags inventory
• Process FedEx envelopes with tags to customers in and out of state.  

 

Qualifications/Requirements – Tag and Title Clerk:

• Excellent communication, listening and organizational skills.
• Maintain a professional, respectable and well-groomed appearance.
• Possess a courteous, friendly and outgoing demeanor.
• Ability to speak and communicate clearly – bilingual in Spanish is a plus!
• Ability to confront and resolve difficult customer service situations
• High school Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
• Previous work experience in automotive dealership and knowledge of tag work preferred.
