JOB SUMMARY: To instruct all students in the fundamental skills and knowledge of the sport or activity. To provide an atmosphere for successful individual development through monitoring, evaluating, and reinforcing.
Season Runs February- May PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Ability to develop drill and practice activities that teach and enhance individual/team skill development that makes up the game.
2. Develop and maintain an inventory list of equipment.
3. Prepares and implements a schedule of checking out, maintaining, and checking in equipment.
4. Ability to plan and enforce appropriate safety and health rules and regulations.
5. Ability to develop a supervision plan that ensures the safety and welfare of students at all times: locker room, trips, practices, etc.
6. Maintains confidentiality about students and others.
7. Presents a professional appearance.
8. Ability to be an effective communicator with all audiences - players, parents, supervisors, peers and spectators.
9. Ability to receive, understand and follow directions.
10. Be able to model/demonstrate activities and equipment used to develop basic skills or physical condition.
11. Ability to observe, diagnose, and prescribe appropriate remediation activities during practice and game conditions for players and team.
12. Must know and be able to apply the developmental stages of each point of the game to the needs and ability levels of the team/players.
13. Assimilate innovations and adapt to changes when applicable.
14. Establish fundamental philosophy for activity or sport.
15. Instruct assistants in techniques necessary to meet philosophy objectives.
16. Analyze and evaluate sports effectiveness.
17. Responsible for providing training rules and expectations and seeing that rules are taught to each participant.
18. Assist in the scheduling of the activity or sport.
19. Responsible for documenting the state and district's requirements for physical examinations, parental consent and eligibility.
20. Be involved in the hiring of assistant coaches directly under your supervision and indirectly through input at other levels.
21 . To develop and follow a budget in line with district's guidelines and expectations.
22. Take responsibility for public relations with all audiences.
23. Manage through appropriate selection, assigning duties and responsibilities, and monitoring of assistants.
24. Support the philosophies of Park County School District #6.
25. Park County School District #6 Head Coaches assist in making recommendations/hiring of Middle School level coaches.
26. May be responsible for supervising students on out-of-town activities. This may involve staying overnight.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to sit on a bus for extended periods of travel.
2. Ability to carry and/or provide aid to an injured player.
Soccer 1. Ability to coach at a high intensity level during practices and games.
2. Ability to move quickly from drill to drill with a definite direction and focus.
3. Ability to remove an injured player from the field.
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Possess all certificates required for the State of Wyoming
2. Possess current CPR certification
3. Possess current First Aid certification
4. Have fundamental knowledge of the sport
5. Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries course.
6. Ability to select from a variety of instruction methods to teach activity objectives. Park County School
