Position Summary
The AI infrastructure intern will work with MCNC team members, partner providers, and customers to plan, design, and pilot AI infrastructure, data, analytics and related services.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

• Documenting design and engineering details
• Configuring infrastructure
• Automation scripting as necessary
• Presenting project details to the broader MCNC team

Intern will be provided with:

• Orientation to MCNC’s business
• A work plan, co-developed with intern supervisor to outline the goals of the anticipated internship
• Invitations to meetings to learn about MCNC’s business

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Data Science, Computer Engineering or related field a nd currently pursuing or recently completed an MBA.
• Basic understanding of web development, programming (C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, R, SQL) and scripting
• Basic understanding of Networks, Operating systems (Windows, Unix) and Databases
• Basic understanding of networking principles and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• This role operates on a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility to work from home, but will also be required to work from our RTP office and other locations across the state as needed
• Must have a valid driver's license and will be required to drive a company vehicle on company business. Pre-employment and annual MVR checks will be required during your employment with the company for this position
• Background and sex offender checks will be performed for pre-employment and annually during your employment with the company
• This role will be required to adhere to the MCNC Substance Abuse policy, which may include drug/alcohol screening at hire and periodically or randomly during employment.
