Job Summary

Our client is seeking candidates to be part of their team as  Agile Coach. The Agile Center of Enablement is a collaborative entity within Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) organization that engages across the business and DTS to drive Product and Agile Transformation for Company’s digital products.
As a member of this team, the Senior Product and Agile Coach will lead DTS to transform into a customer focused, outcome driven organization by adopting product management and Agile best practices. The role will provide coaching to Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, as well as leaders on adopting product, Agile mindset, and execution. This role will also monitor effectiveness of the transformation journey and bring industry best practice to drive continuous improvement and sustainment of product management and Agile practices in the organization.

 

Job Description

Key accountabilities:

  • Be a part of the Agile Center of Enablement and help build the deep, institutional capability required to become a truly Agile organization.
  • Determine how to scale agile beyond the individual team or departmental level and use the right scaling model to drive adoption.
  • Partner with leaders for the identification of organizational and development value streams/product or platform teams and for the designing of their organization structure using various team topologies and Product/Platform Taxonomy.
  • Drive OKR (Objectives and Key Results) workshops with the Business stakeholders, Product Management Team, IT Leadership, and the Agile Delivery Teams.
  • Directly influence leadership (up to executive levels) and their teams throughout DTS (infrastructure, applications teams, business partners, Strategy/Innovation/Architecture, Cyber Security and Assurance) and business to drive adoption of Product and Agile thinking.
  • Hands-on coaching on the floor to key product roles – Product Manager, Product Owner and Scrum Master and Scrum teams including but not limited to practices such as demand gathering, prioritization, product roadmaps, defining epics/features, authoring user stories, acceptance criteria, user acceptance testing, release planning, sprint planning, measuring agile metrics, and drive continuous improvement of team performance.
  • Facilitate and coach Agile Release Train/Product/Program level events such as PI Planning/Quarterly Planning, Steerco, Quarterly Product Review, System Demo, Scrum of Scrums, Solution Demo, etc. for Release Train/Cross-Product/Cross-team setup.
  • Assess maturity of teams and provide right level of coaching to Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters at a sustainable pace.
  • Be a part of the Agile Center for Enablement and help roll out best practices like Agile metrics.
  • Monitor effectiveness of the transformation journey and drive continuous improvement to Company product management, Agile framework, and practices.
  • Provide guidance on how Company product teams will measure outcomes and value realization.
  • Coordinate and facilitate agile related community of practice activities to enable local thought leadership and collaboration and to drive shared learnings across the enterprise.
  • Provide coaching to leaders associated with product teams to enable agile culture.
  • Build agile coaching capability throughout the enterprise and mentor agile coaches.
  • Develop agile training materials and process guidelines.
  • Deliver hands-on training in classroom and in virtual setting using collaboration tools (like Mural, Miro, or others) in support of enterprise-wide initiatives for internal agile development paths.
  • Provide guidance to support migration from project centric organization to product centric organization.

Day to day:

  • Their job is to be to help the product managers with the product vision product strategy, product roadmap, and then create a collaboration between the business and IT. Figure out how the business meets the requirements and deliver them. They will also review the work, measure results, measure outcomes, etc.
  • They will also be working with the leaders (who the product managers report to) to help them form teams. They will help with knowing how many teams to create and how to staff for those teams. They will help with team formations, and they need to coach the specific roles.
  • Coaching aspects: Coach product managers on their responsibilities, coach scrum master’s on their responsibilities etc. Then measure results like what is their efficiency of the delivery team, what are the reasons why they’re stuck, what are their KPIs, how fast are they delivering.
  • Currently they have a few teams stood up. They could be working with 3-4 teams at once.

 

Skills Required

  • 15+ years of Professional experience and must have experience with Product Management and Agile combined.
  • Working in an Agile Software Delivery Environment Experience with Agile Teams, Scrum Teams, Kanban teams, Agile Release Trains, and Product Teams
  • Working with organization focused on digital transformation.
  • Ideal Candidate will have 4+ years of experience in the following:
  • Experience of full product life cycle management of a digital product from idea to launch and maintenance.
  • Experience developing and deploying global methodologies in a large organization.
  • Experience driving execution via performance measurement, benchmarking.
  • Expert problem-solving ability and experience leading groups through problem solving methodology.
  • +4 years of Agile Coaching experience at team, product/program/release train and executive level
  • +2 years of Product Owner/Scrum Master experience
  • Excellent training skills in classroom and in virtual setting using collaboration tools like Miro, or others.
  • Experience with Agile Life Cycle Management Tool (AzureDevOps) is a must.
  • Experience coaching agile teams that are dispersed globally.
  • Experience coaching leadership on agile mindset to enable agile culture.
  • Strong Virtual meeting facilitation, interpersonal communication, training, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Experience designing and implementing scrum of scrums or any other agile scaling framework for global products with regional delivery.
  • Expert problem-solving ability and experience leading groups through problem solving methodology.
  • Prior accountabilities that required influencing leaders outside of administrative authority, Strong leadership skills with emphasis on communications and partner management
  • Ethical and data driven decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with organization migrating from project centric to product centric.
  • +2 years Product Management experience
  • IT application services delivery experience; Scrum-Master Certification; Product Owner Certification
  • Experience in both developing and implementing new methodologies.
  • Experience with DevOps and Platform development.
  • Tools: Miro (Mural is okay), Azure DevOps (ADO), Product management tools, Company uses Craft, but it is okay if they have other tools such as Aha! Jira Align, Jira Portfolio, or Rally, Excel, Power Point

 

Education/Certification/Training

  • B.A., B.S./M.S. or B.E/B.Tech. (Advanced degree preferred) in a relevant field.
  • Must Have Certifications: SPC (SAFe Practice Consultant) And (CSM/PSM or CSPO/PSPO), Scaled agile framework
  • Nice to have Certifications: ICP-ACC, Certified Digital Product Manager

  • Position is 100% remote
  • Willing to work in US time zones (CST/EST).
