Job Description
Bischoff Aerospace is seeking eager candidates who are looking to grow in the aviation industry, more specifically, the gas turbine engine business. Bischoff Aerospace is a family owned, FAA and EASA certified repair station MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) that primarily deals with Rolls Royce and Pratt & Whitney engines.
The engineering department is looking to expand by adding new members who are hoping to gain experience in a production-based environment. This is an opportunity to learn and develop design skills in a hands-on way. The internship opportunity is onsite only and pay ranges from $15.50 - $21.50 hourly depending on experience/basic knowledge.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Measuring critical dimensions on aircraft parts using calibrated measuring equipment (Calipers/Micrometers) for fixture design.
Navigate through EM (Engine Manuals) and EIPC (Engine Illustrated Parts Catalog) for part numbers, quantities, and assembly information.
Draft part jigs/fixtures in SolidWorks CAD Software for prototyping and fabrication.
Manage additive manufacturing station at a production level.
Run 3D Printers using various slicing software to maximize print times.
Use basic shop tooling (hand drills, belt sanders, drill presses, etc.) to prototype, test, and create assemblies by hand.
Requirements:
Working towards a degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering; an interest in Aviation is strongly encouraged. Attending a full time nationally accredited Bachelor program.
2-3 years minimum level in Bachelor of Science in Engineering program preferred.
Knowledge of 3D Printing and CAD Design is a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Office required.
Experience with SolidWorks preferred (Intro to CAD Design / Simulations Course Completion).
Knowledge of handling calibrated tooling such as calipers and micrometers is preferred (Instrumentation Lab Course Completion).
A willingness to work in a hands-on environment when necessary is required.
Possess the ability to work in a team environment and independently required.
Good oral and written communication skills required.
